Jil Rissi

Jil Rissi studierte Volkswirtschaft, Geschichte und Skandinavistik im Bachelor an der Universität Zürich. In ihren Arbeiten beschäftigte sie sich mit Raumwahrnehmungen im Nordatlantik, grönländischer Fotografie und der Interdisziplinarität von Kunst und Geschichtswissenschaft. In diesem Rahmen entstand ihr Projekt (De)Colonization through Greenlandic Lenses, das mit dem Semesterpreis 2024 der Universität Zürich ausgezeichnet wurde. Sie war als studentische Mitarbeiterin in der Historischen Fotografie und Bibliothek am Schweizerischen Nationalmuseum tätig und zuletzt absolvierte sie ein Praktikum als kuratorische Assistenz an der Kunsthalle Mainz, wo sie an der Ausstellung Britta Marakatt-Labba – Stitched Tracks mitwirkte.

Jil Rissi studied Economics, History, and Scandinavian Studies at the University of Zurich, where she completed her Bachelor’s degree. In her work, she focused on spatial perceptions in the North Atlantic, Greenlandic photography, and the interdisciplinarity of art and historical scholarship. Within this context, she developed her project (De)Colonization through Greenlandic Lenses, which was awarded the University of Zurich’s Semester Prize in 2024. She worked as a student assistant in Historical Photography and the Library at the Swiss National Museum. Recently she completed an internship as a curatorial assistant at Kunsthalle Mainz, where she contributed to the exhibition Britta Marakatt-Labba – Stitched Tracks.
